Montgomery County County Fire and Rescue Services personnel were called to the Marriott on Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when a mechanical issue left two window washers stuck on a scaffolding about four stories up.

A spokesperson for the department said that the two workers were rescued by first responders once Pepco removed power from a nearby pole as a precaution to assist firefighters' efforts.

Both workers were safely taken back to the ground uninjured. They were evaluated at the scene, but no injuries were reported and no treatment was required.

It is unclear what caused the mechanical issue with the cable that left the window washers in a lurch.
